Description: Here is a spot that is so authentic to the Big Easy that you feel like…well…you’re in the big easy. Oddfellows, taking its name from a famous New Orleans cemetery, has been a favorite destination for fun-loving Hobokenites and food critics alike since 1993. And the minute you step inside you can see why. In addition to the smack-your-chops-delicious Cajun menu, featuring jambalaya, etouffee, gumbo, and blackened catfish, you get your choice of 13 beers on tap to help you wash your po-boy of choice down smoothly! Choose to sip (or guzzle) your native Hurricane cocktail at the bar with the other patrons, people watching on the street-side café or if you’re in an anonymous mood, the private back outdoor courtyard! No New Orleans hot spot would be complete without a Mardi Gras celebration, and Oddfellows answers with a week-long rip-roarin’ party, featuring live funk & zydeco bands and a glittering float that tosses out beads, masks, and trinkets to the revelers below! During crawfish season (May-July), live crawfish are tossed into a giant pot of boiling Cajun spices, then served by the pound along side corn on the cob and boiled red potatoes.
Come see for yourself why Oddfellows has been a Hoboken staple for all these years!
Zagat 2004/2005:
“If the cornbread doesn’t blow you away, the Hurricanes definitely will!”
Description: Joey's BBQ is cooked in the Memphis style southern tradition. All of our meats are prime choice and slow cooked in our unique BBQ pit. We use aged hickory wood to smoke our meats at very low temperatures. The smoker cooks the meat for over 8 hours until it is "fall off the bone" tender. We then serve our BBQ with one of our homemade sauces. We are excited to our products in Hoboken and we hope you enjoy our hospitality.
